Job summary

FINRA, based in Rockville, MD, seeks a Staff Security Engineer to ensure applications and projects meet defined quality standards. You will apply established processes to identify and prioritize security risks, and you will architect and operate security controls to address requirements.

The role requires broad security experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to work in a hybrid environment with occasional travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related discipline with at least three (3) years of related experience.
• Experience in securing networks and systems architecture, design and implementation or related areas.
• Knowledge of communications protocols and experience with multiple security tools.

Responsibilities

• Identify, validate, and prioritize security risks using established processes.
• Architect and design security control systems to address requirements.
• Operate and monitor established security controls and resolve discrepancies.
• Review output and recommend actions to resolve security issues.
• Evaluate and adopt new security technologies and tools.
• Monitor compliance with regulations, policies, and standards.
