Job summary

Salient is hiring a hands-on Lead Security Engineer in San Francisco to build a repeatable security operating system. You will own compliance, access management, and vulnerability processes, with support from IT and People Ops, reporting to senior leadership.

You will deliver security controls, runbooks, and audits, while driving automation to prove compliance and secure operations. This is a Staff-level IC role with weekly delivery expectations.

Qualifications

• Hands-on software engineer mindset with production-grade code and tooling.
• Experience securing cloud infrastructure and IAM/PAM, including investigating suspicious access.
• Experience with security controls audits (SOC 2/PCI) or related frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Own SOC 2, PCI, and bank security questionnaires end-to-end.
• Perform security testing across cloud, IAM, application, payment, and AI boundaries.
• Investigate access anomalies and strengthen IAM/PAM controls.
