Job summary
Guidehouse is seeking a Staff Scientist to lead interdisciplinary research for NHLBI collaborations in Bethesda, MD. The role integrates biochemical, molecular, cellular, genetic, and quantitative approaches across organisms to study stress responses and lysosomal biology.
The candidate will mentor laboratory members, present findings at conferences, and work in a collaborative team to translate basic biology into potential therapeutic insights.
Qualifications
- PhD with at least 2 years postdoc in molecular/cellular biology or related field.
- Expertise with Zebrafish models including husbandry, crosses and genotyping protocols.
- Strong publication record across relevant fields.
- Experience working with animal models.
- Expertise in cellular biology and advanced microscopy imaging.
Responsibilities
- Provide laboratory leadership and support for interdisciplinary research from bench to bedside.
- Combine biochemical, molecular, cellular, genetic and quantitative approaches across organisms.
- Investigate how cells sense stress and how mTOR, TFEB, TFE3 and lysosomal function relate to disease.
- Mentor and train laboratory members; present research at meetings.
- Collaborate in an interdisciplinary lab to advance research initiatives.
- Characterize lysosome contributions in physiology and pathology.
