Job summary

Central Maine Medical Center Inc in Lewiston, ME is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Birthplace unit. You will deliver direct patient care, assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care, and guide patient/family teaching while maintaining standards of care.

The role requires an active RN license and the ability to respond quickly to changes in condition, with a nights shift and a sign-on bonus for qualified candidates.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Educates patients and guides family teaching while coordinating care with the birth unit team.

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice. The Registered Nurse also directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care in the Birthplace. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment. Provides for a safe environment for patients and visitors. Utilizes the chain of command when necessary to ensure patient well-being and appropriateness of care to newborns and mothers during the antepartum and postpartum periods.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

• Current and valid state RN license
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree preferred
• BLS certification within 30 days and maintain current
• NRP certification within 90 days and maintain current
• Basic Fetal Monitoring upon hire within 60 days of hire and maintain current

Pay Transparency

Central Maine Medical Center offers competitive compensation and a reasonable compensation estimate for this role is $36.00 to $46.19. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
