Job summary

Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, ME, seeks a Specialty Registered Nurse – Obstetrics to deliver safe, high‑quality care throughout antepartum and postpartum periods. You will assess, plan, implement and evaluate care, educate patients and families, and collaborate with the Birthplace team to ensure patient safety.

This full‑time night shift role offers a sign‑on bonus up to $20,000 and a competitive benefits package. Candidates must hold an RN license, BLS/NRP, and BSN preferred.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN license.
• BSN degree preferred.
• BLS certification within 30 days and maintain current.
• NRP certification within 90 days and maintain current.
• Basic fetal monitoring certification upon hire within 60 days and maintain current.

Responsibilities

The Specialty Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice. The Specialty Registered Nurse also directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care in the Birthplace. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment. Provides for a safe environment for patients and visitors. Utilizes the chain of command when necessary to ensure patient well-being and appropriateness of care to newborns and mothers during the antepartum and postpartum periods.

Pay Transparency

Central Maine Medical Center offers competitive compensation and a reasonable compensation estimate for this role is $37.00 to $51.28. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
