Job summary

Central Maine Medical Center is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for the Medical-Surgical Unit in Lewiston, ME. You will deliver safe, patient-centered care using the nursing process and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to achieve positive outcomes.

The role offers a sign-on bonus and a nights shift with full-time status. Current RN license, BLS, and ACLS are required or preferred, with BSN encouraged.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN license.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current preferred.
• Previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred.
• Ventilator Management experience preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Responsibilities

• The Registered Nurse (RN) delivers safe, high-quality, patient-centered care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Working collaboratively with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team, the RN provides direct patient care, promotes positive clinical outcomes, and ensures compliance with organizational policies, regulatory standards, and evidence-based practice.
• Deliver safe, compassionate, patient-centered nursing care.
• Assess, monitor, and evaluate patient conditions, reporting changes promptly to the healthcare team.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and treatments in accordance with provider orders and hospital policies.
• Coordinate and collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, therapists, and other interdisciplinary team members.
• Assist with procedures, diagnostics, patient stabilization, and other department-specific clinical interventions.
• Operate and monitor clinical equipment appropriate to the assigned department.
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, medications, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Promote patient safety, quality outcomes, infection prevention, and regulatory compliance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Central Maine Medical Center offers competitive compensation and a reasonable compensation estimate for this role is $36.00 to $49.16 per hour. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
