Job summary

Heraeus Materials Singapore Pte Ltd seeks a senior materials engineer to lead the development of cutting-edge semiconductor materials and solutions, guiding R&D efforts and optimizing formulations and production processes.

You will mentor junior engineers and collaborate across disciplines to deliver high-performance materials meeting industry standards and customer expectations.

Qualifications

• Master degree in materials science, chemistry or related field.
• 5–7 years experience in sinter or TIM1 product development with semiconductor applications.
• Hands-on product development and leadership of technical teams/projects.
• Strong knowledge of sinter paste and TIM1 materials, including synthesis, processing, thermal properties, performance evaluation, and application development.
• Understanding of chemical/material safety, environmental, and waste regulations.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute development projects for Sinter and TIM1 products, ensuring solutions are innovative, feasible, and aligned with market demands.
• New technology exploration and liaise with internal and external stakeholders to gather requirements, report progress, and discuss strategic decisions.
• Provide professional solutions on materials characterization, especially on thermal properties. Strong troubleshooting skills.
• Serve as a mentor to junior engineers and team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation.
• Author technical reports, technical papers, patent applications, project updates, and technical overviews as required.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

The position plays a critical role in steering the company's technological advancements and ensuring the successful new product development. This position is tasked with leading the development of cutting-edge semiconductor material and solutions, leveraging deep technical expertise to solve complex engineering challenges. The role acts as a technical leader, guiding research and development efforts, optimizing chemical formulation, production processes, and mentoring junior engineers. This role requires a strategic thinker who can collaborate effectively across multiple disciplines to deliver high-performance semiconductor materials that meet rigorous industry standards and customer expectations.

Job Responsibilities:

• Design and execute development projects for Sinter and TIM1 new products, ensuring solutions are innovative, feasible, and aligned with current market demands. Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet all quality standards.
• New technology exploration and liaise with internal and external stakeholders to gather requirements, report progress, and discuss strategic decisions.
• Provide professional solutions on materials characterization, especially on thermal properties. Strong troubleshooting skills.
• Serve as a mentor to junior engineers and team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation.

Job Requirement:

• Minimum Master degree in materials science, chemistry or any other related fields
• Min 5 - 7 years of experience insinter or TIM1 product development, with a proven track record in semiconductor applications.
• Hands-on experience in product development and leading technical teams/projects.
• Strong knowledge ofsinter paste and TIM1 materials, including material synthesis, characterization, processing, thermal properties, performance evaluation, and application development.
• Understanding of chemical/material safety, environmental, and waste management regulations.
• Strong analytical and data interpretation skills to support formulation, process optimization, and product performance improvement.
• Excellent problem-solving, strategic thinking, and decision-making abilities, including risk assessment and adaptability in a changing environment.
• Project management skills with the ability to effectively manage resources and priorities.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in global cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
