Job summary

Qnity Silicon Valley Technology Center is seeking a Senior Thermal Engineer to lead advanced thermal materials projects for electronics and HPC applications. The role emphasizes heat transfer, TIMs development, and mechanical design within a customer-facing R&D setting.

You will collaborate with a cross-functional team, drive projects from concept to deployment, and mentor engineers while ensuring alignment with industry standards and customer needs.

Qualifications

• M.S. degree in mechanical engineering or closely related field.
• 2-3 years of directly applicable engineering work experience with thermal materials and thermal management technologies.
• Demonstrated expertise in thermal interface materials (TIMs), gap fillers, phase-change materials, dielectric materials, or thermally conductive composites.
• Experience with semiconductor packaging, power electronics cooling, or high-performance computing thermal challenges is desirable.
• Strong fundamentals in heat transfer, phase change materials, thermal modeling, and thermal characterization techniques.
• Proficiency with thermal design and modeling software such as Ansys, COMSOL, SolidWorks, AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Lead applications development projects related to mechanical design and thermal systems for local customers.
• Drive customer solutions from concept to commercialization.
• Collaborate with SVTC SMEs to rapidly solve customer problems.
• Respond quickly to customer needs and adapt to changing priorities.
• Engage with Silicon Valley customers to understand needs and opportunities.
• Link Qnity R&D to local SVTC opportunities and lead regional thermal engineering.
• Represent SVTC in industry groups and conferences.
• Deliver training and seminars to internal and external teams.
• Mentor junior engineers and support their growth.
