Job summary

3D Glass Solutions, Inc- is seeking an engineer who enjoys hands-on work with tools, running experiments, and rapid problem solving across R&D and early manufacturing.

The role focuses on sustaining manufacturing, process improvement, data-driven decision making, and collaboration with cross-functional teams; requires a engineering degree and semiconductor experience; ITAR/EAR eligibility.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Science in Engineering.
  • 1-3 years’ experience in a semiconductor manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in thin films, lithography, wet etch, and dry etch.
  • US Citizenship, US Permanent Resident, or ability to meet ITAR/EAR licensure requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical expertise and sustaining support for manufacturing.
  • Evaluate and improve manufacturing processes via disciplined problem-solving and design of experiments.
  • Maintain reliable and safe manufacturing systems while improving quality, yields, production rates, and reducing costs.
  • Develop innovative solutions and incorporate new methods and processes to improve existing operations.
  • Improve Cp, Cpk and production volume while maintaining and improving quality standards.
  • Collect, record, and document data and effectively communicate results with presentations and reports summarizing key results and support effective decision making.
  • Provide suggestions during incident investigations and advise on corrective actions.
  • Inspect materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions. Plan and establish a sequence of operations to produce the product and to promote efficient utilization of resources.
  • Implement a process to qualify manufacturing tool stations and operations before committing to the product.
  • Implement a process to qualify technical personnel on manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Develop tool maintenance procedures and troubleshoot toolset issues.
  • Determine root causes of failures using statistical methods and recommend changes in designs, tolerances, or processing methods.
  • Perform additional functions and other duties as assigned or required.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Provide technical expertise and sustaining support related to manufacturing.
    Evaluate and improve processes in manufacturing systems through disciplined problem-solving methodology and design of experiments.
  • Maintain reliable and safe manufacturing systems while improving quality, yields, production rates, efficiencies, and reducing costs.

  • Improve process capability metrics (Cp, Cpk) and production volume while maintaining and improving quality standards.
  • Collect, record, and document data and effectively communicate results with presentations and reports summarizing key results and support effective decision making.
  • Provide suggestions during incident investigations and advise on corrective actions.
  • Inspect materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Science in Engineering.
  • 1-3 years’ experience in a semiconductor manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in thin films, lithography, wet etch, and dry etch will be considered.
  • This position will require lawful access to ITAR/EAR controlled information, and employees in these roles will need to meet those requirements. Requirements include US Citizenship, US Permanent Resident, or the ability to meet contract-specific licensure requirements.

  • Experience in process development, process window characterization, and defect source investigation.
  • Demonstrated strong team dynamics, able to work through complex issues with a diverse team.
  • Have good time management skills, be self-motivated, and have a strong desire to succeed in a challenging environment.
  • Resourceful and have strong problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with statistical process control methodologies and engineering analysis tools.
Physical/Working Requirements
  • Must be able to wear personal protective gear most of the day (where applicable).
  • Prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
