Lunar Energy is seeking a Staff Reliability Engineer in Mountain View, CA to ensure reliability across home energy products from design through field performance. You will collaborate with mechanical and electrical engineers to refine targets, drive DFMEA, and develop reliability test plans, with opportunities to impact warranty and product improvements.

Qualifications

• Experience solving complex power electronics reliability failures.
• Knowledge of DFMEA and reliability targets during product development.
• Experience with accelerated life testing and PCBAs/battery storage.
• Strong understanding of power converter topologies and failure physics.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with mechanical and electrical engineers during hardware design to set reliability targets.
• Provide Design for Reliability (DfR) inputs during new product development.
• Drive DFMEA to identify risks and implement mitigations.
• Develop ALT Reliability Test Plans for components and subsystems.
• Track field reliability metrics and provide insights for warranty and product improvements.
• Conduct failure analysis to determine root causes and drive corrective actions.
