Job summary

Lunar Energy is seeking a Senior Reliability Engineer in California to strengthen reliability across home energy products. You will partner with mechanical and electrical engineers during hardware design, establish and refine targets, and develop test plans to demonstrate reliability throughout the product life cycle.

The role emphasizes Design for Reliability inputs, DFMEA leadership, and analysis of field performance to drive continuous improvement and warranty insights.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical Engineering or Physics or equivalent required.
• Proven track record solving complex power electronics reliability failures.
• Experience with DFMEA and designing for reliability.
• Familiarity with failure modes in power electronics components (capacitors, semiconductors).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with design engineers to set component and system reliability targets for power electronics and battery systems.
• Provide Design for Reliability inputs during new product development.
• Drive DFMEA to identify risks and implement mitigations.
• Develop ALT Reliability Test Plans for components and subsystems.
• Track field reliability metrics and support warranty insights.
• Lead failure analysis to identify root causes and drive containment and corrective actions.
