Job summary

Divergent is seeking a Staff Machine Reliability Engineer to lead complex reliability challenges across our additive manufacturing fleet. You will drive issues from escalation to validated closure, translating failures into durable improvements and informing future product design.

You will coordinate cross-functional RCCAs, analyze machine data, and push for evidence-based engineering actions that prevent recurrence across mechanical, electrical, and software domains.

Qualifications

• Access to information and technology subject to US export controls.
• 6+ years of experience in machine development, reliability engineering, manufacturing engineering, equipment engineering, or related discipline.
• Experience leading complex root cause investigations and corrective actions on electromechanical or automated equipment.
• Strong problem-solving methodologies RCCA, 8D, fault-tree analysis, FMEA, DOE or equivalent.
• Experience working across mechanical, electrical, controls, software, manufacturing, and/or process engineering.
• Ability to interpret machine and production data, distinguish correlation from root cause, and translate findings into engineering action.
• Demonstrated ability to independently drive technically ambiguous, cross-functional problems through resolution.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including communicating technical problems and risk to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Own Reliability Issue Intake, Triage, & Prioritization across the fleet.
• Coordinate RCCAs for recurring, systemic, and machine-level failures.
• Drive and validate closure with SMEs; ensure evidence supports corrective actions.
• Inform future product design with reliability learnings and standards.
• Lead cross-functional teams and communicate risk to leadership.
• Improve mechanisms, metrics, and processes to manage engineering reliability issues.
