Job summary

Detroit Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Med Surg unit. In this ongoing position, you will manage and provide patient care activities while collaborating with a team of health care providers.

Responsibilities

• The RN is a member of the Patient Care Services Team and is responsible for the satisfactory completion of nursing care by the nursing team.
• The RN manages and provides patient care activities for a group of patients and their families, applying independent judgment and collaborating with all team members.
• The RN establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with physicians and other health care providers.
• The RN delegates, assesses, provides, and evaluates patient care, and provides and delegates patient care activities to team members.
• The RN monitors patient progress and prepares patients for discharge.
• The RN reports directly to senior unit management and participates in shared decision‑making activities.
