Digital Dynamics, Inc. is seeking a Staff Quality Engineer with 5–10 years of experience to lead complex investigations of product, process, supplier, and contract-manufacturer quality in a high-performance electronics environment.

You will apply statistical methods (SPC, Gage R&R, DOE), drive 8D problem-solving with suppliers and customers, mentor quality staff, and ensure containment through verified corrective actions and strong documentation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5–10 years of quality engineering experience in electronics or regulated manufacturing.
  • Experience resolving systemic quality issues and leading corrective actions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead complex product, process, and supplier quality investigations with containment, root-cause, corrective-action, and verification.
  • Identify trends from quality data and drive improvements across products and processes.
  • Apply statistical methods to qualify processes, assess risk, and guide decisions.
  • Work with customers, suppliers, and contract manufacturers to resolve major quality issues using structured methods such as 8D.
  • Mentor quality staff and strengthen compliance through documentation and audits.

All products are designed and built at our facilities in beautiful Scotts Valley, CA.Position SummaryWe are seeking a Staff Quality Engineer with 5–10 years of experience and demonstrated technical leadership to drive quality improvements across products, processes, suppliers, and contract manufacturers.This individual contributor will lead complex quality investigations, establish effective quality methods and controls, strengthen industrial compliance, and address systemic issues identified through data trends and customer complaints. The role will influence technical decisions across teams, mentor quality staff, and drive issues from containment through verified closure.Key ResponsibilitiesLead complex product, process, and supplier quality investigations, including containment, root cause analysis, corrective action, and effectiveness verification.Identify systemic issues through quality trends, customer complaints, nonconformance data, and other performance indicators; drive improvements across affected products and processes.Define and improve quality methods, process qualification criteria, and controls that teams can apply consistently.Apply statistical tools, including SPC, process capability, Gage R&R, hypothesis testing, and designed experiments, to qualify processes, assess risk, and guide technical decisions.Work directly with customers, suppliers, and contract manufacturers to resolve significant quality issues using structured methods such as 8D.Strengthen industrial and quality-system compliance through risk assessment, controlled documentation, audit support, and accurate quality records.Provide technical leadership and mentorship on statistical analysis, root cause investigation, and corrective-action methods.Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain to incorporate lessons learned into product designs, manufacturing processes, and supplier controls.RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent relevant experience.5–10 years of quality engineering experience in electronics, electromechanical, semiconductor, or other regulated industrial manufacturing, with demonstrated ownership of complex initiatives across teams.Proven success resolving systemic quality issues and leading corrective actions through verified effectiveness.Ability to establish technical direction, influence decisions without direct reporting authority, and communicate quality risks and tradeoffs to leadership.Working knowledge of industrial compliance, quality management systems, and applicable manufacturing standards.Deep practical knowledge of statistical methods used for process qualification and improvement, with experience in Minitab, JMP, or equivalent software.Experience partnering with suppliers and contract manufacturers to drive containment and corrective action using 8D or comparable structured problem-solving methods.Our Total Rewards PhilosophyWe believe rewarding employees extends beyond base compensation.
