Job summary

Uber is seeking a Production Engineer for Core Services Production Engineering to blend multiple software domains and ensure Uber's services run reliably at large scale. You will design, build, and maintain software across stateless and stateful services, and lead initiatives with engineering teams to raise reliability and efficiency.

In this role, you will apply SRE principles, participate in on-call rotations, and drive post-incident improvements to prevent recurrences, while collaborating

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience using Go, Java, Python, or similar programming languages.
• Experience delivering engineering solutions end-to-end, including problem definition, architecture planning, implementation, testing, and delivery.
• Ability to write clear technical proposals and RFCs, and drive engineering alignment across teams through design documents and discussions.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain software that improves reliability, scalability, and efficiency of thousands of production services across multiple data center zones.
• Lead engineering initiatives end-to-end within the team and Uber Engineering to improve reliability through automation and tooling.
• Collaborate with engineers to guide toward practical, reliable architectures and implementations.
• Apply SRE principles such as observability, load testing, chaos testing, on-call practices, incident management, and disaster recovery to improve MTBF, TTD, and TTM.
• Participate in on-call rotations, respond to incidents, and drive post-incident improvements.
