Job summary

UpGuard is seeking a Staff-level Product Security professional to own the security direction as we scale. You will define security standards, tooling, and practices across our product and cloud infrastructure, collaborating with product engineering and platform teams to embed security into the development lifecycle.

You will lead threat modelling, automate security controls, and drive secure-by-default configurations, while managing vulnerabilities and building detection and response

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in security engineering, software security, or security operations in cloud environments.
• Cloud security experience (GCP preferred, AWS/Azure welcome).
• Strong knowledge of securing IAM and cloud identities.
• Experience leading security reviews of products/architectures and turning findings into controls.
• Hands-on with IAC tools and secure-by-default configurations.

Responsibilities

• Lead threat modelling and security reviews across UpGuard’s product portfolio and cloud infrastructure, surfacing attack vectors and scalable mitigations.
• Build automation, policy-as-code, and AI-driven security tooling to shift security left across the SDLC.
• Design and implement secure-by-default configurations for cloud and Kubernetes infrastructure.
• Own vulnerability management end-to-end and drive remediation with engineering teams.
• Build scalable detection and response systems and run incidents end to end.
• Forge deep partnerships with product engineering and platform teams to deliver secure-by-design solutions.
