Job summary

Walmart Data Ventures seeks a Staff Product Manager to identify, validate, prototype, and incubate new data and AI-powered products. The role blends strategy, research, design, and building in ambiguous spaces, with close customer engagement and rapid hypothesis testing to decide scaling potential.

You will drive 0-to-1 discovery, frame problems, and collaborate across Product, Design, Engineering, Data Science, Strategy, and Legal to shape MVPs and experiments that prove value.

Qualifications

• Option 1: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related area and 7 years’ experience in product management.
• Option 2: 9 years’ experience in product management or related area.

Responsibilities

• Own 0-to-1 discovery for new product opportunities, from problem identification through validation, prototyping, pilot, and scale/pivot/stop recommendations.
• Lead hands-on customer discovery and research: define learning goals, conduct interviews and concept tests, synthesize insights, and translate evidence into product decisions.
• Frame ambiguous problems with clear customer problems, hypotheses, and success metrics.
• Rapidly create concepts, and prototypes using design and AI-assisted tools to accelerate learning.
• Assess desirability, feasibility, viability, market dynamics, and Walmart’s differentiated right to win.
• Define MVPs and experiments, using qualitative/quantitative evidence to prioritize and make tradeoffs.
• Partner cross-functionally across Product, Design, UXR, Engineering, Data Science, Strategy, and Legal.
• Build compelling narratives and recommendations for senior leaders.
