Job summary

Renesas Electronics Americas seeks an experienced Staff Product Engineer to guide advanced IC products for space and harsh-environment applications from development through production readiness.

You will lead cross-functional teams across IC design, radiation effects, applications engineering, test engineering, assembly and manufacturing, performing bench testing, data analysis, and ATE correlation to ensure high-reliability performance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years executing new product development in semiconductors.
• Experience in IC characterization, validation, test, debug, and production release.
• Hands-on bench testing and data analysis of characterization results.
• Familiarity with NPI processes and cross-functional collaboration.
• Knowledge of space-grade or harsh-environment semiconductor products preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead product engineering for radiation-hardened ICs in space/harsh environments.
• Serve as cross-functional hub among IC design, radiation effects, test, and manufacturing.
• Drive milestones across the NPI lifecycle and ensure alignment across functions.
• Characterize IC designs to verify electrical specs and reliability.
• Perform bench testing and support device characterization, validation, and ATE correlation.
• Analyze data and provide insights on performance, margin, yield, and manufacturability.
• Collaborate with test and packaging teams to integrate requirements into a manufacturable solution.
• Support high-reliability development practices for space-grade devices.
• Contribute to continuous improvement in NPI, ATE readiness, and release processes.
• Communicate status and risks clearly to engineers and leadership.
