Job summary

Infineon Technologies in San Jose, CA invites a Staff Product Engineer to join the Research & Development team. You will partner with Design Engineering, lead characterization, and guide high-volume manufacturing while shaping new packages and test programs.

You will mentor junior engineers, drive reliability analyses, and align engineering initiatives with product quality goals, datasheet compliance, and cost improvements in a fast-paced semiconductor environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, with 5+ years of experience in the semiconductor industry.
• Strong expertise in non-volatile memory technologies, including NOR and/or NAND Flash architectures, cell operation, and product design, with NPI understanding.
• Knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing: wafer fabrication, wafer probe testing, assembly, final electrical test and datasheet impact.
• Experience with device and package-level reliability testing, failure mechanisms, and reliability stress methodologies.
• Proficiency in data analysis and automation tools (JMP, Yield3) and languages such as Python, C/C++, or Perl, for engineering analysis and test optimization.
• Hands-on experience with bench test and validation environments and ATE platforms (Teradyne, Advantest), plus strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Design Engineering throughout the product lifecycle to ensure standards compliance and quality.
• Lead product and process characterization to validate performance and drive improvements.
• Support high-volume manufacturing with accurate documentation, yield monitoring, and cost-efficiency efforts.
• Serve as the primary technical resource for product quality and reliability, performing root cause analysis.
• Oversee development, testing, and packaging initiatives, including new package introductions and test program maintenance.
• Provide technical leadership and mentor engineers while contributing to strategic engineering projects.
