Job summary

Handshake in San Francisco is seeking a Staff Product Designer for the Student Experience team to shape how millions of students discover jobs, build careers, and navigate major transitions. You will own end-to-end experiences across job discovery, matching, resume building, interview prep, and career planning, including AI-driven agent actions.

You'll collaborate with product, engineering, applied AI, data science, and career services experts to craft trusted, high-quality experiences.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of product design experience,
• Experience designing AI-powered or agentic products.
• Ability to articulate trade-offs and insights to partners and leadership.
• Proven track record shipping high-quality experiences with measurable impact.
• Collaborative work across engineering, product, applied AI, data science, and career services.

Responsibilities

• Define problems, shape product strategy, and deliver student experiences end to end.
• Own design end-to-end from concept through post-launch iteration.
• Design across the full student journey: discovery, matching, application support, interview prep, career pathing.
• Tackle novel agentic UX challenges, explainability, trust, and human-AI handoffs.
• Iterate through wireframes, prototypes, and experiments to validate interaction models.
