Job summary

Mysten Labs, Inc. is seeking a Staff Product Designer to set the experience strategy for the DeepBook financial stack and first‑party products on Sui. You will lead a design team across spot trading, margin, prediction markets, liquidity, and related workflows.

You will work with product and engineering from strategy through launch, building scalable systems while staying hands-on on the most critical flows to drive adoption, trust, and performance.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of product design experience, with leadership and hiring experience.
• Portfolio showing exceptional craft and leadership on data-dense products.
• Experience designing trading, fintech, crypto or high-stakes products.
• Fluency in DeFi and onchain products.
• Strong product judgment and cross-functional collaboration.
• Skills in interaction design, information architecture, visual design, prototyping, research, and systems thinking.
• Experience building design systems and scalable operating practices.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity with evolving inputs (product, tech, market, legal).

Responsibilities

• Set the design vision, principles, and priorities with leadership.
• Own end-to-end experiences across DeepBook products and related apps.
• Lead core journeys: onboarding, funding, market discovery, order entry, settlement, and risk.
• Design for diverse audiences including retail traders, institutions, and developers.
• Remain hands-on on high-priority work: framing problems, prototyping, testing, and reviews.
• Build a scalable design system and patterns for dense financial data and charts.
• Establish a practical research program using interviews, usability studies, and analytics.
• Collaborate with engineering to understand protocol behavior, latency, and security boundaries.
• Partner with legal, security, marketing, and ecosystem teams to launch responsibly.
• Define quality measures and connect work to activation, conversion, and trust.
