Job summary

LegalZoom's product design team seeks a Staff Product Designer, aka AI UX Designer, to build production-ready prototypes and validate ideas with real data.

You balance design judgment with execution, ship features end-to-end, mentor peers, and influence roadmaps across product, engineering, and brand.

This remote-friendly, hybrid role requires collaboration in Mountain View, Sherman Oaks, or Austin offices, with access to flexible schedules.

Qualifications

• Strong design fundamentals evidenced by a track record of guiding products from concept to production.
• Comfort designing from ambiguity with systems thinking and documentation.
• Fluency with AI development tools to turn concepts into working prototypes.

Responsibilities

• Develop frameworks that simplify ambiguous problem spaces and generate novel directions.
• Build and ship production-quality prototypes with real data.
• Lead features from requirements to shipped experience using AI tools while improving customer UX.
• Identify and document gaps in the design system and integrate components with the system architecture.
• Review CI/CD checks, accessibility, and design tokens before customer delivery.
• Judge when AI-generated work meets design intent and refine as needed.
• Instrument releases with usage analytics to inform next design iterations.
• Support roadmap decisions and balance speed with quality using AI to accelerate iteration cycles.
• Calibrate AI-powered features to manage user trust, showing confidence or seeking confirmation when appropriate.
• Mentor peers and raise craftsmanship standards across the team.
• Align with product, engineering and brand to ensure cohesive shipping.
