LegalZoom, a leader in online legal services, seeks a Staff AI UX Designer to own end-to-end problems across product areas, applying AI to enhance accuracy, safety, and user trust. You’ll work across design and engineering, modernizing the design system, and shipping high-quality prototyped experiences with real data.
You will drive rapid iteration, collaborate on roadmaps, mentor peers, and leverage AI development tools to move faster while maintaining craft and impact across platforms.
About LegalZoom
LegalZoom is on a mission to help people navigate the legal system with confidence and clarity. As a leader in online legal services for over 25 years, we combine technology, attorney-led solutions, and expertise to protect the aspirations, lives, and legacies of millions of customers. If you're ready to contribute to a collaborative, diverse, and distributed group of creative thinkers and problem-solvers, we can't wait to meet you.
This hybrid position will work remotely as well as onsite in our Sherman Oaks, Austin, or Mountain View office.
At LegalZoom, we operate with a human-in-the-loop model, where AI enhances human judgment rather than replacing it. We believe the strongest outcomes for our customers come from thoughtfully integrating human expertise with AI capabilities to improve accuracy, safety, and decision-making.
To align with our AI-integrated operating model, our interview process will assess AI fluency, curiosity, and measurable/impactful workflow integration.
LegalZoom's product design team works at the intersection of problem solving, craft, and code. Our customers come to us at high-stakes moments in complex, trust-centered decisions, and their expectations for how that experience should feel are evolving fast. The product needs to simplify that complexity, drive real value, and deliver cohesive product and brand experiences throughout. That means modernizing our core design system, raising the bar for how design creates impact on user experience and trust, and building coherent experiences across platforms. It also means working in code: exploring design directions quickly through prototyping, then applying our craft to build high-quality working code and hand off directly to engineering.
As an AI UX Designer (internally, Staff Product Designer), you own problem areas end to end while staying flexible to work across any area of the business where design can drive value. You maintain and raise the quality bar for the team, and you leverage AI to drive individual and team efficiencies, stronger workflows, and a culture of continuous improvement.
We're looking for designers with startup experience who have designed, built, and launched zero-to-one products. You're hands-on with AI tools and workflows, and you move seamlessly between ambiguity and skilled execution.
The salary range for this role is ($140,500-$224,800). Actual compensation offered will depend on several factors including but not limited to: geographic location, work experience, education, skill level, and/or other business and organizational needs. In addition, an annual bonus, incentive bonus and/or restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package. You will also receive a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits as seen below.
