Job summary

Fieldguide is hiring a Staff Product Designer to join the Fieldguide team. You’ll own complex, ambiguous problem spaces end‑to‑end, partner deeply with Product and Engineering, and help shape the design direction of a core Fieldguide product.

We move incredibly fast at Fieldguide, and we’re looking for designers who can operate at that cadence. This team ships frequently, iterates in tight loops, and makes progress amid ambiguity.

Qualifications

• Experience shaping AI-assisted workflows get designed at a systemic level.
• Coached or mentored other designers, articulating why, not just what.
• Able to influence senior PM and Engineering leaders across teams.
• Set a high bar for craft and consistency that others follow.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end design for complex, ambiguous audit workflows, from problem definition through shipped solutions.
• Partner closely with Product and Engineering to shape strategy, influence roadmaps, and deliver high-quality, scalable implementations.
• Drive design execution with minimal direction, operating effectively in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
• Translate customer needs, research insights, and business goals into clear user journeys, interaction models, and polished UI.
• Balance speed and iteration with usability, consistency, and long-term product quality.
• Advocate for users while accounting for technical, regulatory, and business constraints.
• Own a significant product area or customer journey, anticipating downstream impacts across workflows and personas.
• Set a high bar for craft and influence by contributing to the design system, mentoring peers, and serving as a trusted design voice.
