Job summary

Pimlico Banks is seeking an experienced Staff Process Integration Engineer in San Jose, CA to drive semiconductor laser and photonics manufacturing improvements. The role focuses on hands-on development and integration of wafer fabrication processes for advanced III-V laser devices.

You will work with photolithography, grating fabrication, etching and deposition, applying SPC/DOE methods to improve yields and support new product introductions.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in semiconductor wafer fabrication, with emphasis on photolithography and related micro/nanofabrication processes.
• Experience in semiconductor process development, integration or manufacturing engineering.
• Knowledge of optical grating fabrication and diffraction grating technologies.
• Understanding of dry/wet etching, thin-film deposition and device manufacturing.
• Experience investigating process issues, improving yields and developing robust processes.
• Background in III-V semiconductors, lasers or optoelectronic devices is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop, optimise and integrate semiconductor wafer fabrication processes for advanced laser and photonic devices.
• Work with photolithography, optical grating fabrication, dry/wet etching and thin-film deposition processes.
• Support development and manufacture of III-V semiconductor lasers, including DFB technologies.
• Investigate process variations, defects and yield issues, identifying improvement opportunities.
• Use SPC, DOE and root-cause analysis to improve process performance and consistency.
• Support new product introduction and transfer of technologies into manufacturing.
• Collaborate with R&D, process engineering, manufacturing, testing and reliability teams.
