Pimlico Banks in San Jose, CA is seeking a Senior Photonics Process Engineer to advance semiconductor wafer fabrication for advanced optical devices. You will lead development and integration of photolithography, grating fabrication, etching and deposition processes, while investigating yield-limiting defects and process variations.

Senior Photonics Process Engineer – Semiconductor Fabrication

Location: San Jose, California

Employment: Permanent | On-site

Pimlico Banks are working very closely with an established technology business operating at the forefront of semiconductor photonics and optical device manufacturing.

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Process Engineer with a strong background in semiconductor wafer fabrication, particularly photolithography, optical grating fabrication and process integration.

The position combines hands-on process development with responsibility for improving manufacturing performance, supporting new product introduction and taking advanced photonic technologies into production.

The Role

• Develop, optimise and integrate semiconductor wafer fabrication processes for advanced optical and photonic devices.
• Work extensively with photolithography, grating fabrication, etching and thin-film deposition processes.
• Investigate process variations, manufacturing defects and yield-related issues.
• Support the transition of new device technologies from development into manufacturing.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing and product development teams.
• Contribute to optical process development, including specialist equipment and optical alignment systems.

What We're Looking For

• Strong hands-on experience in semiconductor photolithography and wafer fabrication.
• Experience with optical grating fabrication or closely related micro/nanofabrication techniques.
• A background in semiconductor process development or process integration.
• Knowledge of dry/wet etching, deposition and semiconductor device manufacturing.
• Experience with III-V compound semiconductors, lasers or optoelectronic devices would be particularly attractive.
• Familiarity with statistical process control, DOE and yield improvement methodologies.

Particularly Interesting

Experience with Displacement Talbot Lithography (DTL), optical bench setup or laser beam alignment would be advantageous.
