Job summary

CesiumAstro is seeking a Staff Power Electronics Engineer to lead development of power electronics hardware for SATCOM terminals. You will define architectures, perform trade studies, and oversee PCB layout, testing, and production transition across 0.8 V to 400 V systems.

The role requires leadership of a small team, in-depth design verification, and collaboration across hardware and software domains to ensure reliable power solutions for military and commercial applications.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
• 8+ years of experience in analog and power electronics.
• Experience with power systems, SWAP-C trade studies, and topologies.
• Experience with offline AC-DC and DC-DC power supplies for industrial, airborne, or military systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of power system architectures and requirements.
• Design DC-DC converters, power supplies, and distribution up to 20 kW.
• Perform WCA, stress, FMEA, reliability, and power integrity analyses.
• Lead board bring-up, verification testing, and production release.
• Mentor engineers and lead a small team.
• Develop verification plans and production acceptance tests.
• System integration and qualification campaigns.
