Job summary

HID is seeking a Senior or Staff Software Engineer in Eden Prairie, MN to contribute to platform software, including printer drivers and SDKs for Secure Issuance products. You will work across firmware, electrical, mechanical, QA, product, and support teams to design, implement, test, and optimize software solutions.

The role emphasizes architecture, ownership, and collaboration with multiple departments to improve product quality and processes, while advancing secure identity issuance

Qualifications

• . Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• . 4+ years of related software engineering experience; senior staff levels adjust by experience.
• . Staff-level: 7+ years with technical ownership and mentoring.
• . Experience in platform software development with OO languages (C, C++, C#).
• . Familiarity with Windows API, DevExpress, XML; Linux a plus.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and evaluate platform software requirements; collaborate with colleagues and customers to define product requirements.
• Assist in product design and architecture development.
• Design, develop and maintain platform software solutions to meet documented requirements.
• Facilitate estimation processes and work in cross-functional teams.
• Contribute to code reviews and technical discussions; present findings.
• Investigate defects and resolve them in a timely manner.
• Improve development processes and tooling; propose standards and practices.
• Collaborate with hardware and embedded teams to optimize interfaces and performance.
