Job summary

Docker, Inc. is seeking a Staff Engineer to set technical direction and drive production adoption for its multi-region, cross-account platform.

You will design self-service capabilities, onboard new regions, and advance the end-to-end provisioning, deployment, and observability stack. You will join a small team building the internal platform that powers Docker’s global services, collaborating across teams to raise the bar on reliability, security, and scale while delivering concrete,

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on software engineering experience in backend, infrastructure, or platform engineering.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong Go or similar language: design, testing, debugging, review, maintainability.
• Experience shipping and operating cloud services or infrastructure platforms in production.
• Deep expertise in Kubernetes, networking, cloud platforms, reliability engineering, or developer platforms; solid Linux and production-ops fundamentals.
• Experience setting technical direction and leading cross-team work.
• Clear written and verbal communication in a remote environment.

Responsibilities

• Turn ambiguous infrastructure problems into proposals and drive RFCs and architecture reviews.
• Design self-service capabilities and platform APIs (Go) for onboarding, provisioning, deployment, observability defaults, and day-2 ops.
• Set delivery standards using Terraform, GitOps with Argo CD, progressive rollout, and testing.
• Evolve multi-tenant EKS foundations for reliability, security, scale, and cost.
• Improve SLOs and incident follow-up on Grafana Cloud for safer production.
