Job summary

Anthropic is seeking an experienced backend/platform engineer to join the Auth & Identity team. You will own high-traffic identity systems end to end across Anthropic products, including API and enterprise offerings.

You will design and implement authentication/authorization flows, policy engines, and multi-region resilience, collaborating with product, security, and infrastructure teams. Emphasis on reliability and security in scalable systems.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience building and operating backend or platform systems at scale.
• Experience with OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML, SCIM, JWT, workload identity federation.
• Strong focus on reliability, security, and on-call readiness.

Responsibilities

• Own critical, high-traffic identity and access systems end to end.
• Define policy framework for model, membership, role, and resource access.
• Collaborate with product, security, infrastructure, and other teams to shape technical direction.
