Job summary

Alarm.com is seeking a Staff Engineer to help evolve the SDA Platform, decomposing monoliths into bound, scalable services. You’ll lead architectural decisions, affect multiple teams, and own platform tooling from templates to deployment pipelines.

You will mentor engineers, drive domain design for critical areas, and ensure operational excellence with observability and modern CI/CD practices. This role is hybrid, based in Tysons, VA, with in-person collaboration four days a week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field or equivalent work experience.
• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong experience with C# and .NET Core; distributed systems and microservices.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical work on SDA platform, guiding proxy API suite and SDAs for operational excellence.
• Drive design of shared platform libraries and internal tooling used by multiple teams.
• Mentor engineers, review code, and raise technical bar across the org.
• Ensure observability and reliability through Grafana dashboards and modern tooling.
