Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) is seeking a Physician III for the Lubbock State Supported Living Center to provide high-quality medical care to residents with intellectual disabilities. The role involves leading the medical team, developing care plans, and ensuring integration with other care providers.

Must be a Texas-licensed Physician with DEA and NPI, and residency-trained. The position requires on-call duties, adherence to the DOJ Settlement Agreement, and collaboration

Qualifications

• Must be licensed as a medical doctor by the State of Texas.
• Must have current DEA registration.
• Must possess a National Provider Identifier (NPI) and enroll as a Medicaid/Medicare Part B provider.
• Residency trained and clinical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Delivers and oversees high quality medical services for individuals with intellectual disabilities served by HHSC SSLCs.
• Develops health care plans with measurable goals and ensures proper implementation.
• Provides direction to the treatment team and coordinates with APRNs, PAs, nurses and consultants.
• Maintains medical documentation, reports, and on-call duties as required.
• Participates in DOJ Settlement Agreement compliance efforts and disaster/COOP activities.
