Job summary

Mountain Community Health Partnership seeks a patient-focused Staff Pharmacist to join our community pharmacy team in North Carolina. The role emphasizes safe, high-quality pharmaceutical care, patient counseling, and collaboration with care teams to improve health outcomes.

Responsibilities include verifying prescriptions, counseling patients, assisting with insurance and processing, inventory management, immunizations, and supervising technicians.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy from an accredited college or school of pharmacy; PharmD preferred.
• Current unrestricted pharmacist license in NC.
• Completion of an accredited pharmacist immunization certification program.
• 1–3 years of retail or community pharmacy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Verify prescriptions for accuracy, therapy appropriateness, and drug interactions.
• Counsel patients on proper medication use, side effects, and adherence.
• Provide OTC recommendations and treatment options for minor ailments.
• Assist with prescription processing, data entry, and insurance adjudication support.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and organizational pharmacy policies and procedures.
• Maintain detailed controlled substance records and inventory management practices.
• Participate in ordering, receiving, storing, and monitoring inventory.
• Remove and properly process expired or outdated medications.
• Collaborate with providers and healthcare staff to optimize therapy and outcomes.
• Administer immunizations per state regulations and protocols.
• Provide guidance and supervision to Pharmacy Technicians and support staff.
• Assist the Pharmacy Manager with daily operations and admin tasks.
• Serve as acting pharmacist-in-charge during manager absences.
