Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy from an accredited college or school of pharmacy; PharmD preferred.
• Current unrestricted pharmacist license in NC.
• Completion of an accredited pharmacist immunization certification program.
• 1–3 years of retail or community pharmacy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Verify prescriptions for accuracy, therapy appropriateness, and drug interactions.
• Counsel patients on proper medication use, side effects, and adherence.
• Provide OTC recommendations and treatment options for minor ailments.
• Assist with prescription processing, data entry, and insurance adjudication support.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and organizational pharmacy policies and procedures.
• Maintain detailed controlled substance records and inventory management practices.
• Participate in ordering, receiving, storing, and monitoring inventory.
• Remove and properly process expired or outdated medications.
• Collaborate with providers and healthcare staff to optimize therapy and outcomes.
• Administer immunizations per state regulations and protocols.
• Provide guidance and supervision to Pharmacy Technicians and support staff.
• Assist the Pharmacy Manager with daily operations and admin tasks.
• Serve as acting pharmacist-in-charge during manager absences.

The ideal candidate is a collaborative healthcare professional who is committed to excellent customer service, medication safety, and improving health outcomes within the communities we serve.

Key Responsibilities:

• Verify prescriptions for accuracy, appropriateness of therapy, and potential drug interactions.
• Counsel patients regarding proper medication use, side effects, drug interactions, and medication adherence.
• Provide recommendations regarding over-the-counter medications and treatment options for minor ailments.
• Assist with all aspects of prescription processing, including data entry review, product preparation oversight, and insurance adjudication support.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and organizational pharmacy policies and procedures.
• Maintain detailed and accurate controlled substance records and inventory management practices.
• Participate in ordering, receiving, storing, and monitoring prescription and non-prescription inventory.
• Remove and properly process expired or outdated medications.
• Collaborate with providers, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize medication therapy and patient outcomes.
• Administer immunizations in accordance with state regulations and organizational protocols.
• Provide guidance and supervision to Pharmacy Technicians and support staff.
• Assist the Pharmacy Manager with daily operations and administrative responsibilities.
• Serve as acting pharmacist-in-charge when designated during manager absences.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (BS Pharm) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an accredited college or school of pharmacy approved by NC Board of Pharmacy. PharmD Preferred. Current unrestricted pharmacist license in NC. Completion of an accredited pharmacist immunization certification program.
• Experience: One to three years of retail or community pharmacy experience preferred. Experience with 340B pharmacy programs preferred. Familiarity with PioneerRx pharmacy software preferred.
• Strong clinical knowledge and commitment to medication safety. Excellent communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
