Job summary

CVS Health is hiring a Staff Pharmacist to lead and support the pharmacy team within a CVS store, ensuring safe dispensing, patient counseling, and potential immunization services. You will act as the pharmacist-on-duty when needed and partner with the Pharmacy Manager to maintain high standards of care and operations.

You’ll participate in patient-centered care, drive process improvements, and maintain regulatory compliance while delivering compassionate service to the community.

Qualifications

• Active Pharmacist License in the state where the Store is located
• Active National Provider Identifier (NPI)
• Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list

Responsibilities

• Living our purpose by helping to manage and improve patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices
• Overseeing the pharmacy as proxy during bench shifts and coaching the team to improve performance
• Assumes Pharmacy Manager’s day-to-day duties when serving as the primary pharmacist-on-duty
• Ensuring safe prescription fulfillment by following workflow procedures and safety guardrails
• Providing empathetic patient care and resolving insurance or medication issues
• Immunizing patients and supporting pharmacists and technicians to learn immunization
• Managing inventory with emphasis on cold chain protection
• Ensuring operations comply with state Board of Pharmacy regulations and escalate when needed
• Maintaining scheduling flexibility and contributing to a safe, inclusive team
• Maintaining clinical and technical skills and pursuing required trainings
• Expanding pharmacist clinical care services where permissible (e.g., testing and prescribing)
• Complying with all applicable laws, regulations, standards, and CVS policies
