Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Staff Pharmacist to join our retail pharmacy team and lead patient-focused clinical care. You will dispense medications, counsel patients, immunize when permissible, and guide the pharmacy team to ensure safe and accurate prescriptions.

You will partner with the Pharmacy Manager to maintain regulatory compliance, manage inventory, and deliver high-quality care in a fast-paced environment across our stores.

Qualifications

• Active Pharmacist License in the state where the Store is located.
• Active National Provider Identifier (NPI).
• Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list.

Responsibilities

• Living our purpose by helping to manage and improve patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices.
• Taking direction from the Pharmacy Manager and overseeing the pharmacy as their proxy during bench shifts without overlap, including strengthening pharmacy performance measures through coaching.
• Assumes Pharmacy Manager’s day-to-day duties when serving as the primary pharmacist on duty.
• Supporting safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by following workflow procedures and safety guardrails.
• Contributing to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and authentic care, and coaching the team accordingly.
• Administering immunizations and supporting technicians to learn to immunize.
• Managing inventory with best practices, with focus on cold chain protection.
• Ensuring compliance with state Board of Pharmacy regulations and CVS policies.
• Maintaining scheduling support and staying adaptable to business needs.
