Job summary

Piedmont Atlanta Hospital in Georgia seeks a licensed pharmacist to join our hospital pharmacy team. The role involves dispensing, compounding, and monitoring medications across age groups, with a focus on patient-centered care.

This position requires a PharmD or equivalent from an ACPE-accredited school, Georgia licensure upon hire, and readiness to work Monday through Friday 2:30pm-11pm with every 4th weekend.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy with a Bachelor's or higher in Pharmacy required.
• PHARMD or equivalent; Georgia license required (upon hire).

Responsibilities

• Distributes, documents, and compounds drugs, solutions, and equipment for patients and staff.
• Reviews, compounding, dispensing and monitoring of medication therapy for all ages.
• Supervises pharmacy technician activities and ensures order accuracy.
• Engages in patient-focused clinical activities to optimize medication therapy.

Required Hours

Monday through Friday 2:30pm-11pm with every 4th weekend requirement.

Responsibilities

Performs duties of distribution, documentation and compounding related to drugs, solutions and equipment to meet the needs of patients and staff. Responsible for the reviewing, compounding, dispensing and monitoring of medication therapy for infants, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients which includes dosing variations, nutritional needs and disease states associated with the various age groups. Supervises pharmacy technician activities including monitoring of all orders filled by auxiliary personnel. Assumes responsibility for competency and self-development in professional pharmacy practice. Performs patient focused care clinical activities throughout the hospital, to provide patients with optimal medication therapy.
