Job summary

Piedmont Atlanta Hospital is seeking a Pharmacist to join our hospital-based pharmacy team. You will handle distribution, documentation and compounding of drugs and equipment for patients and staff, and monitor therapy for infants to geriatrics to ensure optimal medication therapy.

Requirements include graduation from an ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy with a Bachelor’s or higher and Georgia pharmacist licensure. No experience required; weekend coverage may be included.

• Graduate of an ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy with a Bachelor's or higher in Pharmacy.
• Licensed pharmacist in Georgia.

Responsibilities

• Distributes, documents and compounds drugs, solutions and equipment for patients and staff.
• Reviews, compounds, dispenses and monitors medication therapy for all ages.
• Supervises pharmacy technician activities and ensures competency of staff.
• Performs patient-focused clinical activities to optimize medication therapy.

Required Hours

Monday through Friday 2:30pm-11pm with every 4th weekend requirement.

Responsibilities

Performs duties of distribution, documentation and compounding related to drugs, solutions and equipment to meet the needs of patients and staff. Responsible for the reviewing, compounding, dispensing and monitoring of medication therapy for infants, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients which includes dosing variations, nutritional needs and disease states associated with the various age groups. Supervises pharmacy technician activities including monitoring of all orders filled by auxiliary personnel. Assumes responsibility for competency and self-development in professional pharmacy practice. Performs patient focused care clinical activities throughout the hospital, to provide patients with optimal medication therapy.
