Job summary

JobRx, Inc. is seeking a Staff Nuclear Pharmacist to support the Pharmacy Manager in ensuring safe, accurate, and client-focused nuclear pharmacy operations in Texas.

The role requires a licensed pharmacist with nuclear pharmacy experience, NRC or state Authorized User status, and flexibility to work evenings and weekends. The candidate will oversee staff, ensure regulatory compliance, and contribute to program quality and safety.

Qualifications

  • Must be a Registered Pharmacist with 1+ years nuclear pharmacist experience preferred.
  • Must have active pharmacy license in the state worked in.
  • NRC or state Authorized User Status designation in the state worked in.
  • Ability to work a variety of shift schedules including evenings, holidays and weekends.
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

  • Compound, prepare and dispense radiopharmaceuticals per physician prescriptions and regulations.
  • Perform quality control testing and inventory audits; manage kit preparation and elutions.
  • Ensure handling and shipping of radioactive material complies with all requirements.
  • Assist Pharmacy Manager in supervising staff, technicians, lab workers, and drivers.
  • Monitor operations, expenses and purchasing within the pharmacy.
  • Provide clinical support for radiopharmaceutical questions to customers.
  • Train pharmacy technicians, lab assistants and nuclear medicine students.
  • Follow SOPs and safety standards; comply with laws.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Job Title: Staff Pharmacist

FLSA Status: Exempt

Position Type: Full Time

Pay Type: Salary

Pay Rate: $115,000 - $135,000

Reports To: Pharmacy Manager

Role Summary:

The Staff Nuclear Pharmacist will play an essential role in assisting the Pharmacy Manager efforts for the safe, effective and client-focused operation of the Nuclear Pharmacy.

Job Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Compounds, prepares and dispenses radiopharmaceuticals per physician prescriptions and Company, State and Federal regulations.
  • Performs Quality Control testing on all dispensed products. Assesses medications to determine identity, purity and strength; performs white blood cell labeling, enters daily elution's, kit preparations, and inventory audits.
  • Complies with all Company, State and Federal requirements for the handling and shipping of radioactive material. Keeps the laboratory clean as per regulatory specifications.
  • Assists the Pharmacy Manager with overseeing pharmacy staff, technicians, lab workers and drivers. Have the capability to oversee running of the facility, known as Pharmacist in Charge, as needed.
  • Assists with the monitoring and control of operational expenses, inventory and purchasing of supplies within the pharmacy.
  • Provides clinical support for customers with radiopharmaceutical questions. Informs management of complaints or requests in a timely manner.
  • Provides training and instruction to pharmacy technicians, lab assistants and nuclear medicine technology students.
  • Follows Standard Operating Procedures while safely carrying out the responsibilities of position. Complies with all company safety standards, and all federal, state and local laws.
  • Performs other job-related duties as required by the Pharmacy Manager.
Job Requirements Skills Education:

Physical Requirements:
  • Manual dexterity for manipulating small items; regularly lift at least 50 pounds throughout each shift and to be able to lift 75 pounds on occasion. Able to handle standing, walking and sitting for 4+ hours with limited rest intervals; good eye-hand coordination; fair eyesight (with or without correction lenses); normal hearing in at least one ear (hearing range of 20 Hz to 20 kHz); ability to analyze situations, set priorities and meet deadlines while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced and dynamic environment; effective organizational skills; a commitment to continuous learning; an ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
