Remitian is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to own money-movement systems on the Payments team. This role spans from data models to UI, with a focus on reliability, observability, and secure handling of taxpayer data.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience as a software engineer.
• Experience building payments or money-movement systems with ledgering, settlement, or banking integrations.
• Experience using AI tooling to ship features and accelerate development.
• Ownership of non-trivial systems from architecture through production.
• Strong systems-oriented judgement across performance, scalability, security, correctness, reliability.
• Proven technical leadership without formal authority across teams.

Responsibilities

• Own money-movement workflows end to end, from tax obligation to ledger settlement.
• Lead design of large payments systems and drive production readiness.
• Design, build, and ship features across the stack from data models to UI.
• Ensure reliability, observability, and security in production money-movement workflows.
• Mentor engineers through code reviews, pairing, and design feedback.
