10x Genomics, Inc. is seeking a Staff Opto-Mechanical Engineer to lead the optical-mechanical architecture of our instruments.

You will guide precision design, alignment strategies, and manufacturing at scale, while mentoring the team and driving innovations for sequencing and spatial biology. You will translate optical requirements into mechanical tolerances, perform thermal and structural analyses, and ensure regulatory compliance.

Qualifikationen

• BS/MS/PhD in Mechanical or Optical Engineering with 10+ years in optomechanical design in biotech or high-tech instrumentation.
• Deep expertise in precision mounting, kinematic design, flexures, thermal management, and material selection for stability.
• Strong knowledge of geometrical/physical optics, imaging, and illumination (lasers/LEDs).
• High proficiency in 3D CAD and advanced tolerancing, including opto-mechanical stack-ups.

Aufgaben

• Own optomechanical design projects from concept through deployment and field service.
• Drive DFMEA, alignment fixtures, and test procedures with manufacturing and service teams.
• Lead cross-functional teams and present risks and strategies to leadership.
