Job summary
10x Genomics, Inc. is seeking a senior engineer to lead the architecture, design, and lifecycle delivery of precision optomechanical systems for imaging and illumination.
You will analyze optical performance, thermal behavior, vibration, and tolerances while mentoring engineers and presenting to senior leaders. You will own cross-functional execution, drive process improvements, and identify opportunities for patents.
Qualifications

Lead the architecture, design, integration, and lifecycle delivery of precision optomechanical systems for imaging and illumination, including analysis of optical performance, thermal behavior, vibration, and manufacturing tolerances. Drive cross-functional execution and process improvements, mentor engineers, represent optomechanics to senior leaders, and identify opportunities for patents.
Requires a bachelor's, master's, or doctoral degree in mechanical engineering, optical engineering, or a related field, plus at least 10 years of relevant industry experience in optomechanical design. Candidates need deep expertise in precision optical mounting, thermal and tolerance analysis, CAD and simulation, optical fundamentals, electromechanical integration, and product development and manufacturing transfer.
