Job summary

Molecular Devices in San Jose, CA is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the design and development of mechanical systems for advanced imaging equipment. You will own optomechanical components and drive verification, validation, and system integration to production readiness.

The role requires 5+ years in R&D, SolidWorks expertise, and strong DoE, GD&T, and leadership skills to guide cross‑functional teams and ensure performance and reliability targets are met.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and 5+ years in R&D.
• Experience designing optomechanical assemblies including servo/stepper motion.
• Experience validating fixtures for optical alignment and leading technical reviews.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of mechanical systems for advanced imaging equipment.
• Drive design verification, validation, and production deployment.
• Oversee DoE-based hardware testing and MTBF evaluation.
