Job summary

Snowflake, Bellevue, WA, is seeking a Staff/Lead Software Engineer for the External Observability Platform. Hybrid role (3 days in-office) in the Infrastructure & Observability Platform Engineering team.

You will architect and scale the external observability platform, defining telemetry standards, building high-throughput engines, and driving cross-team collaboration. You will mentor senior engineers, lead architectural decisions, and own the end-to-end delivery of telemetry ingestion,

Qualifications

• 10+ years building backend distributed systems.
• Experience with Go/C++/Java/Rust in cloud-scale platforms.
• Experience with IaC and Terraform/Pulumi.
• Strong cross-team collaboration and mentorship.

Responsibilities

• Architect and scale distributed infrastructure.
• Define Observability Standards across teams.
• Build high-throughput engines for telemetry processing.
• Automate infrastructure lifecycle with IaC (Terraform/Pulumi).
• Drive platform adoption and cross-functional collaboration.
