Job summary

University Hospital at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center seeks a Staff Nurse (RN) for the Progressive Care Float Pool. You will provide direct patient care and support the care team in a fast-paced unit.

Responsibilities include assessing, planning, coordinating, delegating and evaluating nursing care, while supervising less-experienced staff and ensuring quality and safety. Ohio nursing license required; BSN preferred; background check may be required.

Qualifications

• Degree in Nursing from a CCNE or ACEN accredited program required.
• Current Ohio nursing license or interim permit.
• Experience in relevant care setting preferred.

The team provides patient care and supportive services directed towards achievement of positive patient care outcomes, maximizing the patient?s involvement in his/her own plan of care and reducing the length of hospitalization, The staff nurse plays a critical role in staff engagement , the patient experience, quality and safety, and cost effective care.

Position Summary: The Staff Nurse is responsible for managing and providing care to the patient and his/her family, and for directing and supervising nursing care provided by other members of the patient care team. The Staff Nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, coordinating, delegating and evaluating the nursing care of patients in alignment with the professional practice model.

Minimum Education Required

2-Year College Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience with a Major in nursing

Additional Education Desired

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience with a Major in nursing

Required Qualifications

Degree in Nursing from a CCNE (Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education) or Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) accredited nursing program required. Current Ohio license or interim permit. *Experience in relevant care setting preferred.
