Job summary

The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, OH is seeking a Staff Nurse (RN) to provide direct patient care in the Neuro Progressive Care/Ortho Neuro PCU. The role includes direct patient care, family education, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

The successful candidate will assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care, supervise team members, and uphold safety, quality and patient outcomes. Ohio license required; 36 hours weekly; shifts vary.

Qualifications

• Nursing degree required from CCNE or ACEN accredited program.
• Current Ohio license or interim permit.
• Experience in relevant care setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage and provide care to patients and families, and supervise nursing care by the care team.
• Assess, plan, implement, coordinate, delegate and evaluate nursing care in line with professional practice model.

The team provides patient care and supportive services directed towards achievement of positive patient care outcomes, maximizing the patient?s involvement in his/her own plan of care and reducing the length of hospitalization, The staff nurse plays a critical role in staff engagement , the patient experience, quality and safety, and cost effective care.

Position Summary: The Staff Nurse is responsible for managing and providing care to the patient and his/her family, and for directing and supervising nursing care provided by other members of the patient care team. The Staff Nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, coordinating, delegating and evaluating the nursing care of patients in alignment with the professional practice model.

Required Qualifications

• Degree in Nursing from a CCNE (Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education) or Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) accredited nursing program required. Current Ohio license or interim permit. *Experience in relevant care setting preferred.
