Banyan Treatment Centers in Mooresville, NC is seeking a Staff Nurse (RN) for full-time, on-site work in a detox program. You will provide direct nursing care, handle medications, and support patient safety within an interdisciplinary treatment team.

The ideal candidate is a NC-licensed RN with at least two years of nursing experience, preferably in detox or substance use treatment, and strong documentation/EMR skills.

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted RN license in North Carolina.
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Minimum of two years nursing experience; detox experience preferred.
• Strong clinical assessment and documentation skills.
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary treatment team.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care under supervision per protocols.
• Complete comprehensive nursing assessments and admission documentation.
• Administer medications and provide medication education.
• Assess medical needs, determine urgency, initiate interventions or referrals.
• Monitor psychiatric symptoms and safety; report changes to leaders and team.

Staff Nurse (FT) | RN | On-site | SUD: Detox Banyan Treatment Centers is honored to expand our life-changing services to Mooresville, NC, and is seeking a Staff Nurse to provide direct nursing care within substance use treatment programs. The Staff Nurse supports patient safety, medication administration, nursing assessments, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Position Details

• Reporting To: Director of Nursing
• Schedule: Full-time, Monday, Thursday-Saturday, 7 PM - 7:30 AM
• Location: Mooresville, NC (On-site).

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care under the supervision of the medical provider in accordance with medical protocols and standards of practice.
• Complete comprehensive nursing assessments and required admission documentation within established timeframes.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed and provide medication education as indicated.
• Assess patient medical needs, determine urgency, and initiate appropriate interventions, referrals, or emergency response as required.
• Monitor patients for psychiatric symptoms, medication effectiveness, and safety concerns, and report changes to the nursing leadership, provider, or treatment team as appropriate.
• Apply sound clinical judgment in crisis situations, including suicide risk assessment, de-escalation, and patient safety interventions.
• Accurately transcribe, document, and implement provider orders, including verbal orders when permitted.
• Collaborate with physicians, psychiatrists, nursing leadership, and interdisciplinary team members to support integrated patient care.
• Communicate patient health concerns to nursing and clinical leadership and participate in interdisciplinary treatment planning.
• Maintain timely, accurate, and complete documentation in the electronic medical record in accordance with licensure, accreditation, and organizational standards.
• Ensure confidentiality of patient information and compliance with HIPAA, Joint Commission standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Support medication management and controlled substance processes in collaboration with Compliance and nursing leadership, as applicable.

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina.
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Minimum of two (2) years of nursing experience preferred, with experience in substance use disorder treatment and detox strongly preferred.
• Working knowledge of nursing standards of care for patients with mental health conditions, substance use disorders, and co-occurring diagnoses.
• Strong clinical assessment, documentation, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to maintain professionalism, objectivity, and composure in high-stress or emergency situations.
• Demonstrated understanding of patient confidentiality, ethical practice, and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary treatment team.
• Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems preferred.
