Job summary

Banyan Treatment Centers in Castle Rock, CO seeks a full-time Nightshift Staff RN to join our core nursing team. This role covers the 10am-10pm schedule midweek, reporting to the director and working with shift leads.

Provide direct patient care to individuals with SUD & MH, ensure regulatory compliance, document in EMR, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team. Competitive hourly pay plus shift differentials; full benefits for eligible staff.

Qualifications

• Active Colorado RN license required.
• Nursing degree/diploma; BSN preferred.
• 2+ years of nursing experience preferred.
• Experience in inpatient dual-diagnosis (SUD & MH) setting strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care under medical provider supervision per protocols.
• Complete comprehensive nursing assessments and admission documentation within established timeframes.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed; provide education as needed.
• Assess patient needs, determine urgency, and initiate appropriate interventions or referrals.
• Monitor psychiatric symptoms, medication effectiveness, and safety; report changes to leadership.

RN | SUD & MH| FT - Schedule: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 10am -10 pm | $42 - $50 hr Banyan Treatment Centers dual diagnosis facility in Castle Rock, CO has a full-time, nightshift opportunity for a Registered Nurse to join their nursing team as a Staff/Floor Nurse. This position reports to the department's Director and receives direct shift support from designated shift leads.

In this direct patient care role, you will provide crucial nursing services to patients undergoing treatment for substance use disorders and mental health conditions, ensuring the highest standards of patient care, regulatory compliance, and fostering the growth of a dynamic team. Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care under the supervision of the medical provider in accordance with medical protocols and standards of practice.
• Complete comprehensive nursing assessments and required admission documentation within established timeframes.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed and provide medication education as indicated.
• Assess patient medical needs, determine urgency, and initiate appropriate interventions, referrals, or emergency response as required.
• Monitor patients for psychiatric symptoms, medication effectiveness, and safety concerns, and report changes to the nursing leadership, provider, or treatment team as appropriate.
• Apply sound clinical judgment in crisis situations, including suicide risk assessment, de-escalation, and patient safety interventions.
• Accurately transcribe, document, and implement provider orders, including verbal orders when permitted.
• Collaborate with physicians, psychiatrists, nursing leadership, and interdisciplinary team members to support integrated patient care.
• Communicate patient health concerns to nursing and clinical leadership and participate in interdisciplinary treatment planning.
• Maintain timely, accurate, and complete documentation in the electronic medical record in accordance with licensure, accreditation, and organizational standards.
• Ensure confidentiality of patient information and compliance with HIPAA, Joint Commission standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Support medication management and controlled substance processes in collaboration with Compliance and nursing leadership, as applicable.
• Maintain required certifications, training, and continuing education in accordance with organizational and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in in-service education, department meetings, and staff meetings as required.
• Demonstrate professionalism, accountability, adaptability, and effective teamwork in a regulated healthcare environment.
• Perform additional duties as assigned within scope of practice.

Qualifications

• An active unrestricted RN license in Colorado
• Nursing degree/diploma from an accredited school of Nursing, BSN preferred.
• 2 or more years of nursing experience is preferred.
• Work experience within an inpatient dual-diagnosis (SUD & MH) setting is strongly preferred.

Competencies

• Working knowledge of nursing standards of care for patients with mental health conditions, substance use disorders, and co-occurring diagnoses.
• Strong clinical assessment, documentation, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to maintain professionalism, objectivity, and composure in high-stress or emergency situations.
• Demonstrated understanding of patient confidentiality, ethical practice, and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary treatment team.
• Familiarity with KIPU EMR system
