Staff Nurse - NICU - MSW - Full Time Night

Description

Responsible for the care activities and goal achievements of assigned patients by assessing, diagnosing, planning, and intervening in actual or potential health problems, and evaluating patients' responses to care. Responsible for health teaching and discharge planning. Acts as a member of a designated care team, collaborating, coordinating, and guiding team members in planning patient care activities. Demonstrates behaviors reflecting scientific knowledge, judgment, and teaching skills of a professional nurse.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct nursing assessments based on interviews, examinations, observations, and review of patient records.
  • Ensure patient progress or lack thereof is documented in progress notes and care plans.
  • Coordinate discharge planning with inter-departmental and inter-agency communication.
  • Communicate information to patients suited to their level of awareness and readiness to learn.
  • Support orientation of new staff, acting as preceptor, role model, and resource person.
  • Function as a professional role model and mentor for students and volunteers.
  • Assign patient care tasks based on patient needs and staff skill levels.
  • Organize care provision to meet priority needs of patients and the unit.
  • Communicate patient and unit conditions requiring intervention to relevant leadership.
  • Participate in staff development and practice appraisal.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and other disciplines for comprehensive patient care.
  • Provide guidance, assistance, and support to team members.
  • Take accountability for the completion and quality of assigned tasks.
  • Identify and communicate training needs to supervisors.
  • Understand authorities and responsibilities within nursing management and communicate accordingly.
  • Utilize nursing leadership as role models and resources.
  • Reflect the department’s philosophy, goals, and objectives in interactions with families and groups.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited Nursing program; BSN preferred.
  • Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ADN) with current RN licensure and relevant experience, approved by CNO.
  • Experience or educational background supporting credentials, especially in specialized areas.
  • Valid RN license (e.g., RN (1 Year) from DOH/Office of Professions).
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification (required for L&D, NICU).
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Minimum 1-year NICU experience.

Compensation

The salary range is $61.76 per hour, dependent on experience, education, and operational needs. Actual compensation may vary and does not include bonuses or other incentives.
