Responsibilities

• Assess the needs of patients based on history, observation, physical examination, and diagnostic data to provide appropriate age-specific nursing interventions within the plan of care and standards of practice.
• Foster an environment of caring, compassion, and respect for patients, families, and visitors.
• Utilize health and safety equipment to protect patients and staff.
• Apply standard work in relation to Nursing Sensitive Quality Indicators.
• Contribute to department performance through precepting and mentoring novice employees.
• Support department growth through hospital-system initiatives and Evidence Based Practices.
• Demonstrate ongoing professional growth by setting goals and engaging in educational offerings.
• Float to assist in other like units as needed.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
